5 Minute Skincare Routine Using Clean Beauty Products

I take my skincare seriously. I have PCOS and that gives me lot of hormonal skin problems. I spend more on skincare than I do makeup and have more skincare products vs makeup products. SKINCARE IS SO IMPORTANT! I have been using some clean beauty skincare products for over year now and I am so happy with the results I am seeing! Here is a little 1 year before and after for you:

What do I need (or not need) for it to be clean beauty?

You want to avoid ingredients such as Sulfates, Parabens, Pthalates, Dyes, anything Artificial, and, most importantly, Fragrance! These are unnecessary chemicals that mess with female hormones. They also tend to be drying for your skin and can be an underlying cause for breakouts. It’s okay to have a natural fragrance to your skincare, but if you see the word FRAGRANCE listed in your skincare then avoid it like the plague! Companies use that as a blanket word to cover up the ingredients actually used to make the fragrance. There can literally be thousands of toxic ingredients hidden behind that one word! Always check your ingredients and look up anything you don’t know.

My morning and night routine look the same:

I use an exfoliating scrub 3 times a week and also use a hydrating mist from KALOS throughout the day. Check out my whole routine here:

With skincare, start small and work your way up. Get a face cleanser and moisturizer. Give your skin a month to adjust to that, then add in one more product. Give your skin time to adjust for about a month and then add in another product. Keep taking it month by month with adding in one new product at a time so you don’t overload your skin. Also expect your skin to go through a purge with each new product. That is completely normal and it is supposed to do that! Your skin is being cleansed so experiencing some a breakout is normal (and wanted). I know some of these products are a little pricey, but they last a long time. Some of them, like the Frankincense and Yarrow Pom, will last 6+ months.
